Notes from the shop

Most of what happens on a custom home never makes it into the photographs. The photographs show the finished kitchen; they do not show the three weeks of conversation about where the range hood would land, or the morning the framer caught a dimension that did not add up before the window order went in.

This journal is for that part. From time to time we will write up something from a current job: a detail worth explaining, a decision that was harder than it looked, a lesson we would rather pass along than learn twice. Nothing long, nothing polished for its own sake. The kind of note we would send a client who asked a good question.
